Ivo10 Brazil athlete from Teutônia unit has an official contract with Rio Ave, from Portugal

Midfielder Matheus Dias was signed by Rio Ave, from Portugal, and is already playing with the B team in local competitions. An athlete from the Teutônia unit of Ivo10 Brazil Football Academy-RS project and with a career managed by CSR Sports, he arrived at the “Old Continent” in mid-2023 to be evaluated. Even with subsequent approval, the signing of the contract and registration with the Portuguese Football Federation were only until January of this year.

At just 18 years old, Matheus Dias “jumped” straight from the youth categories to the professional ranks at Rio Ave-POR. His conduct and talent during training promoted him to the “B team” in the AF Porto 1st Division 2023/2024 dispute.

“Firstly, I wanted to thank God because I believe that nothing is possible without Him. I would also like to thank my family, who is always with me in good and bad times. I'm taking advantage of the opportunity to be here at Rio Ave-POR, which is a good club, with a good structure. And I'm evolving every day”, said Matheus Dias about his agreement with the Portuguese team.

With experience in the youth categories of Corinthians-SP, A.A. Flamengo-SP and Ivo10 Brazil-RS, Matheus Dias spoke about the change in training style and adaptation to the new scheme. “In the beginning it wasn’t easy. Until I got used to the issue of intensity, because the training here is totally different, it healed a little. But over time I started to get the hang of it and adapt. And today I'm fine, I'm evolving every day both as a person and as an athlete. And that’s it, I’m very happy”, concluded Matheus Dias.

Before confirming the contract with FPF.PT at the beginning of 2024, Rio Ave-POR loaned midfielder Matheus Dias to FC Pedras Rubras-POR, which is competing in the National Under-19 Championship II Division 2023/2024. He played in seven games and scored one goal. Outside of Brazil, he had already played for A10 Academy, in the United States, and Belenenses, in Portugal.

The young midfielder is an old acquaintance of businessman César Soler and CSR Sports. Even with close contact, Matheus Dias only had his career managed by the São Paulo company from 2022 onwards, when he went to Teutônia (RS) to be integrated into the U17 squad of the Ivo10 Brazil Football Academy-RS.
